This remote service assesses CS-/CSL-oriented software adaptation for supported BMW M vehicles of the G Series. Compatibility depends on the VIN, model series, installed control units, current software level and any previous modifications. Only after this assessment can the suitable software versions and the technically possible scope for the individual vehicle be determined.

This service is not a blanket performance promise and does not create an identical copy of a complete special-edition model. Hardware, market version, vehicle condition and approvals differ. The scope, requirements and possible consequences are therefore agreed clearly before the appointment.

Read before ordering: The guide to BMW CS/CSL software for G80, G81, G82 and G87 explains the differences between software, hardware, performance figures and road approval.

Which vehicles can be assessed?

  • BMW M3 G80 and G81
  • BMW M4 G82
  • BMW M2 G87

The model designation alone does not confirm compatibility. Production date, engine and transmission control unit, integration level, market version and existing software must all be compatible. Other G8x variants and previously modified vehicles require a separate assessment.

What can be assessed and adapted?

Depending on the vehicle, supported software versions and configurations for individual control units can be assessed. Where technically suitable and expressly agreed, this may include engine, transmission or vehicle-dynamics software components. Not every vehicle supports every CS- or CSL-related scope, and not every combination is approved for public-road use.

  • identification of the relevant control units and current software versions
  • check for known previous modifications or non-standard software
  • agreement on the requested and technically possible scope
  • remote programming of the agreed supported control units
  • communication and fault-memory check after programming

No blanket horsepower, torque or top-speed guarantee

A specific power or torque figure cannot be guaranteed from a software designation alone. Measurements depend, among other factors, on vehicle condition, fuel, temperature, hardware, the dynamometer and previous modifications. A dynamometer test is not included in this remote service.

A particular top speed is not promised either. Tyres and their load and speed ratings, brakes, suspension, vehicle condition, approval status and local traffic rules must suit the intended use. The vehicle must not be driven during the remote work.

Requirements

  • VIN, exact model, model year and production month
  • details of existing engine, transmission or tuning software
  • details of hardware changes, suspension, exhaust system and wheel/tyre combination
  • Windows laptop with power supply and stable internet connection
  • suitable ENET cable
  • stable vehicle voltage with a suitable external power supply
  • sufficient uninterrupted time for the vehicle and laptop

General requirements are explained in the BMW remote-coding guide and on the BMW G Series page. Send the VIN and details of existing modifications by WhatsApp before ordering.

How the remote service works

  1. You send the VIN, vehicle details, existing modifications and requested scope.
  2. Bimmerfit assesses whether the vehicle and control units are supported in principle.
  3. After the appointment is confirmed, you prepare the laptop, ENET connection and voltage support.
  4. The current control-unit and software versions are read and the order is checked again.
  5. Only the agreed data that is suitable for the vehicle is programmed.
  6. After flashing, communication and relevant fault-memory entries are checked.

The duration depends on the data version, connection, control units and initial condition. A fixed 20-minute promise would therefore not be reliable. Ignition, network connection and voltage support must not be interrupted during programming.

Technical and legal limits

  • no repair of mechanical or electrical defects
  • no remote measurement of engine output or inspection of tyres, brakes and suspension
  • no promise that every feature of a CS or CSL special-edition model can be transferred
  • no guarantee that every vehicle condition can be returned without further work
  • no blanket statement about manufacturer warranty, insurance or legal approval

Emissions-related changes to the petrol particulate filter (OPF/GPF), catalytic converter, diagnostic monitoring or exhaust behaviour are not part of a configuration represented as approved for public-road use. Any separately selected or requested emissions-related change is considered only after an individual technical and legal assessment; choosing a product option does not confirm legality on public roads.

In Germany, Section 19 of the StVZO provides that modifications can affect the vehicle's operating permit where a hazard is to be expected or emissions or noise behaviour deteriorates. Before use on public roads, the vehicle owner must clarify any required reports, inspections, registration entries and information to the insurer. Outside Germany, the rules of the relevant registration and country of use apply.

Frequently asked questions

Does every vehicle automatically receive 530 hp and 650 Nm?

No. Bimmerfit does not promise blanket performance figures. The possible result and supported software version are assessed for the individual vehicle; dynamometer measurement is not included.

Are all CS or CSL functions programmed?

No. Special-edition models also differ in hardware and control units. Only the scope agreed in advance and suitable for the specific vehicle is implemented.

Can a previously tuned vehicle be programmed?

This must be assessed beforehand. Existing third-party software, protection mechanisms or hardware changes can alter the process or prevent the work from being carried out.

Is the programming automatically legal for public-road use?

No. Approval, inspection, registration and insurance requirements depend on the specific work and vehicle and must be clarified before use.

Can the original condition be restored?

Restoration is possible in many initial conditions, but it is not guaranteed in every case. Existing third-party software, later updates or hardware changes may require additional work.

Request a compatibility assessment before ordering: Send the VIN, model, year, existing software and hardware modifications, and your requested scope via WhatsApp. You will receive a clear response about compatibility and requirements before the appointment.
