Do you already have a lawfully sourced INPA and EDIABAS environment that needs to be installed or checked on a Windows computer? Bimmerfit provides remote assistance with installation, paths, interface configuration and a basic connection test. This product is a setup and support service. It is not a licence and does not include the sale or supply of BMW software, data packages or access credentials.
What are INPA and EDIABAS used for?
INPA and EDIABAS belong to an older diagnostic environment commonly used with BMW and MINI E-series vehicles. Depending on the vehicle, control unit and available lawful data, they may identify modules, read fault memories and display selected measured values or service functions. The available functions vary considerably between model series and control units.
INPA is not a universal or current all-in-one solution for F- and G-series vehicles. Modern diagnosis and programming often require a different environment and suitable interfaces. If you only need a specific vehicle fault investigated, the BMW remote diagnostic service is usually the clearer option.
Service options
Self-installation guidance
You receive a setup checklist adapted to your starting situation and instructions for installing files that you provide from a lawful source. We briefly check the Windows version, intended paths and diagnostic interface. Downloads, licence keys and data packages are not included.
Remote installation
We assist by remote access while you remain at the computer. Where required, the session covers installation paths, the EDIABAS interface, COM-port settings and a basic program or vehicle connection test. The work is limited to the files and rights you already provide.
What you need before purchasing
- Windows computer with administrator access
- Stable internet connection for the remote appointment
- Enough free storage and a current backup of important data
- Lawfully sourced installation files and the necessary usage rights
- A suitable diagnostic interface for the vehicle and intended task
- Exact vehicle model, production year and requested diagnostic function
We ask for the Windows version, system architecture and details of any existing installation in advance. Compatibility with every Windows release, data package or modified installation is not guaranteed.
Diagnostic cables and interfaces
Many BMW E-series and MINI R-series vehicles use a suitable K+DCAN or OBD-to-USB cable. Older vehicles may require a 20-pin adapter or a different K-line configuration. ICOM and other interfaces work only when drivers, network settings and the software configuration match.
ENET is common on many F- and G-series vehicles, but using an ENET cable does not automatically make INPA the correct application. Our ENET and K+DCAN guide provides an initial overview.
Not included
- Providing, reselling or unlocking proprietary software
- BMW AOS access, subscriptions or licence fees
- Unlimited support after the agreed setup session
- Vehicle coding or programming without a separate order
- Repair of the computer, Windows installation, USB port or diagnostic interface
- A guarantee that every vehicle function is available through INPA
If files are missing, damaged or not lawfully licensed, we do not replace them with unofficial downloads. Official diagnostic and repair access may be available through BMW AOS or the relevant BMW Techinfo portal, depending on the region.
Privacy during remote access
Close private applications and back up important data before the appointment. Do not share personal passwords. The remote connection is used only for the agreed setup and can be ended by you at any time. Close or remove the remote-access program afterwards if you no longer need it.
Frequently asked questions
Is the INPA software included?
No. You pay for setup and support. The customer provides the required files and usage rights from a lawful source.
Does INPA work with every BMW and MINI?
No. It is most common on older E-series vehicles. Functions and connectivity depend on the vehicle, control unit, data level and interface.
Can this service code or flash control units?
No. This product covers installation and basic configuration only. Diagnosis, coding and programming are different tasks and are not automatically included in an INPA setup.
Which cable should I buy?
That depends on the model series, production date and intended task. Send us these details before purchasing so that K+DCAN, ICOM or another interface can be assessed correctly.
What if my existing package does not work?
We investigate the visible cause within the agreed scope. Missing, altered or unauthorised files are not sourced; we may recommend an official source or a different diagnostic route.
Check before ordering: Send the Windows version, vehicle model, year, available interface and a short description of your goal via WhatsApp. We will confirm the suitable service option and realistic limitations first.
If INPA does not detect the vehicle or ignition, our INPA connection troubleshooting guide: EDIABAS, COM port and K+DCAN covers the main checks before a remote setup session.
