BMW Remote Start / 1CR Activation – Remote Service

Would you like to know whether the original BMW Remote Engine Start function can be enabled on your vehicle? Bimmerfit checks the VIN, market version, engine, head unit, relevant control units and software level and performs the agreed 1CR activation remotely only after technical compatibility has been confirmed.

Remote Start is not available for every BMW. The market version, powertrain, production period and installed vehicle software are particularly important. A model name or G-series model year alone is not sufficient for a binding approval.

What does BMW Remote Engine Start / 1CR mean?

On a compatible vehicle, the engine can be started through the intended remote-start function so that heating or air conditioning can prepare the cabin before driving. Depending on the vehicle, operation may be available through the original key. Use through the My BMW app additionally depends on compatible vehicle services, backend approval and an active user account and is not automatically included in this service.

The activation does not change engine output and is not performance tuning. No aftermarket remote control is installed.

Requirements

• Technically compatible vehicle without active engine, transmission, immobiliser or energy-management faults
• Complete VIN and an original vehicle key
• Windows laptop with power supply, administrator access and a stable internet connection
• Reliable ENET cable and, where required, a suitable Ethernet adapter
• Stable vehicle voltage throughout the assessment and coding work

How the remote activation works

1. Send the VIN, model, year, engine and country of registration.
2. We check technical support, the required activation route and the software level.
3. We confirm an appointment only after the compatibility check has passed.
4. At the confirmed time, connect the vehicle and Windows laptop using the approved ENET cable.
5. We document relevant data, perform the agreed activation and test the supported function with you.

The required time depends on the vehicle, data level, activation route and any diagnostic findings. If a software update or additional assessment is required first, we will explain the separate work before proceeding.

Important use and safety information

• Observe the laws and local rules at the actual place of use. In Germany, unnecessary idling of an engine is not permitted.
• Never start the vehicle in an enclosed space or where exhaust gases could endanger people or animals.
• The vehicle must be parked safely and secured against unintended movement.
• Remote Start is not a replacement for an auxiliary heater and does not guarantee a particular heating or cooling result.
• Manufacturer updates, changes to vehicle services or later control-unit work can affect availability.

Not included

• Hardware retrofitting on vehicles that are not technically prepared
• My BMW app subscription, ConnectedDrive contract or approval by an external service
• Bypassing immobiliser, key verification or other security mechanisms
• Software update or repair of faulty control units unless agreed separately
• Guarantee that use is permitted in every country or situation

Can Remote Start be activated on every BMW G model?

No. The market version, engine, production date, control units and software level must be compatible.

Will the My BMW app work automatically after activation?

Not necessarily. App operation also depends on vehicle services, backend approval, region and an active user account. We confirm only the operating method agreed during the assessment.

Is Remote Start legal in Germany?

Activation and actual use are different questions. Unnecessary engine idling is not permitted, and further rules can depend on the vehicle and location. The driver remains responsible for lawful use.

Can a workshop software update remove the function?

A manufacturer software update can change individual coding or activation data. Compatibility may need to be assessed again afterwards.
