BMW MGU Apple CarPlay Activation – Remote Service

Use Apple CarPlay on your existing MGU navigation system for €149. This service is carried out remotely, without sending in the head unit. Bimmerfit activates Apple CarPlay on suitable BMW MGU systems. Your original vehicle display and iDrive controls remain in place; an additional CarPlay interface box is not part of this offer.

Is this service suitable for my vehicle?

Looking for iDrive 7 or ID7 CarPlay activation? The first MGU generation is also known as Head Unit High 3 (HU-H3). We check the head unit actually installed, the equipment and software version to confirm whether CarPlay activation is possible for your vehicle.

This offer is intended for vehicles with an MGU head unit actually installed. MGU, NBT EVO and EntryNav2 are different systems. The model, year or appearance of the main menu alone does not prove compatibility. Not every MGU generation and software version uses the same activation method.

Before purchasing, send us the last seven characters of your VIN, the model, year or production date and a photo of the iDrive main menu. For replacement or retrofitted units, we may also need the part number or a diagnostic report. CarPlay that already works does not need to be activated again.

How does activation work?

1. You send the vehicle details; we confirm the system and appropriate scope of service.
2. You book the confirmed MGU CarPlay activation for €149.
3. We agree the remote connection, suitable diagnostic interface and required preparation with you. You need a Windows laptop with internet access and the interface confirmed by us.
4. After activation, your iPhone is set up and the function is checked.

You do not have to choose an appointment before purchasing. You can arrange the work with us afterwards.

Important requirements

The vehicle must be accessible during the remote session; we agree the required power supply beforehand. The necessary Wi-Fi hardware must be present and working. For wireless CarPlay, your compatible iPhone needs Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Siri enabled. A smartphone, mobile plan and any paid apps are not included in the service price.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same activation as for NBT EVO?

No. MGU is a different head-unit family. For NBT EVO, we offer a separate CarPlay service.

Does this also activate Android Auto?

This offer covers Apple CarPlay. Android Auto and other functions are not automatically included.

Is a navigation map update included?

No. This is a CarPlay activation, not a map update, hardware conversion or replacement of the navigation head unit.

What happens after a future vehicle software update?

Software updates or replacement of a control unit can affect individual activations. Unrestricted persistence across all future software versions is not promised.
