This offer involves more than plugging in an antenna: Bimmerfit carries out the required hardware conversion directly on the existing unit. An additional CarPlay interface box or replacement with a different navigation system is not part of this package.

Why is coding alone not enough?

EntryNav2 / EntryNav EVO comes in hardware versions with and without Wi-Fi. Wireless CarPlay requires the appropriate Wi-Fi hardware and antenna connection. If the connector is missing from the head unit, coding alone or connecting a loose antenna will not solve the problem. Our hardware conversion is intended for these devices.

Which versions can be converted?

We offer the conversion for EntryNav2 / EntryNav EVO versions without Wi-Fi. The hardware actually installed is decisive, not just the vehicle model or the navigation menu name. First-generation EntryNav, NBT, NBT EVO and MGU are not automatically covered by this offer.

In most cases, we can use the VIN to pre-check the vehicle's original equipment and potential suitability. For previously replaced or retrofitted head units, the VIN alone is not reliable enough: we also check the part number, HWEL or hardware version and, where needed, a photo of the connectors or a diagnostic report.

Does your unit already have Wi-Fi? Then this head-unit conversion may not be necessary. We first establish whether an antenna, activation or this complete retrofit package is appropriate.

How the retrofit works

1. You send the last seven VIN characters, model, production date and, ideally, photos of the menu and device label.
2. We confirm the installed hardware and suitable conversion.
3. You book the complete package. We agree the handover or shipping arrangements and preparation with you.
4. We convert your original unit, update it to the suitable software version and carry out the agreed FSC and CarPlay activation.
5. After processing, we perform a functional check and agree the in-vehicle setup with you.

The hardware conversion cannot be completed solely by remote access. Removing and installing the unit in the vehicle are not software-only tasks and must be agreed beforehand. If you send the unit in, you pay outbound and return shipping separately; shipping is not included in the package price.

Will I keep my original navigation head unit?

Yes. This offer covers conversion of your existing, suitable unit, not the sale of a replacement unit.

Is the Wi-Fi antenna included?

Yes. The package includes the hardware conversion, a suitable Wi-Fi antenna, software work and CarPlay activation.

What does Lifetime FSC mean?

The package includes FSC activation without a time limit for both Apple CarPlay and compatible navigation map updates on the modified device. Updating the head unit's firmware and enabling map updates are different services. Map-update activation does not mean we automatically install every subsequent map update; availability of future map data is outside our control. It does not guarantee compatibility with every future vehicle software update, a later replacement unit or permanently unchanged Apple services. Ongoing ConnectedDrive subscriptions are not included.

Can I just send my VIN?

Yes, we can start the pre-check with it. If the current hardware cannot be identified clearly, we also need HWEL, the part number or photos. A different replacement head unit cannot be reliably identified from the vehicle's original VIN equipment list.

Will this turn my system into MGU or NBT EVO?

No. Your unit remains EntryNav2 / EntryNav EVO. A different system generation, Android Auto or a larger display is not automatically included.
