BMW MSD80 DME Repair – Output-Stage Repair

€249 for the confirmed MSD80 output-stage repair. We first check the VIN, exact ECU identification, hardware/software version and reported fault.

Relevant symptoms and fault codes

Codes such as 30BA or 30BB may justify an assessment, but they do not by themselves prove that the DME has a repairable fault. The injectors, wiring and power supply must also be assessed beforehand.

• Repair of the confirmed electronic damage.
• A final electrical check within the defined test scope.

Preparing the unit for shipping

Send the VIN, a photo of the complete ECU label, the fault report and details of previous repairs. Once the work has been agreed, have the unit removed professionally and send it securely packed with your order number. Send only the agreed components.

The service does not include a replacement ECU, an engine conversion, an unlock or performance software. MSD80.2 and other variants are accepted only after express technical confirmation. Moisture damage, overvoltage damage or severe circuit-board damage may require a different repair route.

Before refitting the unit, the workshop must address any underlying vehicle-side causes. A successful module test alone does not confirm that the entire vehicle is fault-free.

Does every misfire mean that the MSD80 is faulty?

No. Engine-running problems can have many causes. We therefore check the symptoms and ECU identification before agreeing a mail-in job.

Does the repair automatically include replacing the unit with an MSD81?

No. This service repairs the agreed existing unit. Changing to another ECU generation is a different service and is not included.
