Official service overview
Bimmerfit for BMW & MINI coding, diagnostics and retrofits
Bimmerfit is the online service of Altin & Yaman GbR for vehicle-specific software work on compatible BMW and MINI models. Suitable coding, diagnostic and programming tasks are carried out worldwide by remote access. Repairs of selected control units and 12 V lithium batteries are handled by mail after a preliminary check.
When Bimmerfit is the right contact
Bimmerfit may be suitable when a feature needs coding, a warning requires technical assessment, a compatible retrofit needs integration into the vehicle configuration, or a used control unit needs adaptation to the vehicle. Before confirming a service, we check the VIN, model series, production year, equipment, head unit, control-unit generation, part number and software level as appropriate. A model series or product name alone is not proof of compatibility.
- Remote work: Windows laptop, stable internet connection, suitable ENET or K+DCAN/D-CAN interface and stable vehicle voltage.
- Retrofits: Hardware and wiring must be installed correctly and accessible to diagnostics.
- Used parts: Where possible, have the vehicle and part number checked before buying the part.
- Mail-in services: Order the appropriate service first. Our legal-notice address is also the shipping address: Altin & Yaman GbR, Koblenzer Straße 29, 57482 Wenden, Germany. Follow the packing and product-specific shipping instructions.
BMW and MINI remote coding
The starting point for general BMW enquiries is BMW coding & remote coding. Model-specific guidance on diagnostic cables, systems and common tasks is available for the BMW E Series, BMW F Series and BMW G Series. MINI has a coding overview and dedicated guidance for the MINI R Series and MINI F Series.
All bookable remote services are listed under Remote coding. The ENET or K+DCAN guide explains which interface suits the task. A complete English overview is available at BMW & MINI Remote Coding Worldwide.
For individually confirmed sessions with a compatible Wi-Fi ENET adapter, the Bimmerfit app and its setup requirements can establish the authorised connection to the remote coder. A valid session code and active mobile data are required while the iPhone is connected to the adapter's Wi-Fi network. The iPhone version is available in the App Store. The app is not a general replacement for a Windows laptop, K+DCAN or other vehicle- and task-specific interfaces; Bimmerfit confirms the appropriate connection method before the appointment.
For BMW remote start, the guide to 1CR and Remote Engine Start distinguishes key operation, the My BMW app, ConnectedDrive, market availability and preconditioning. The remote-start/1CR service is confirmed only after checking the VIN, engine, vehicle architecture and software level.
CarPlay, head units, navigation and iDrive
The CarPlay, multimedia and navigation category brings together the relevant activation, software and map services.
- Activate Apple CarPlay on compatible NBT EVO systems
- Activate Apple CarPlay remotely on a confirmed compatible BMW MGU system
- Retrofit WLAN on EntryNav2 / EntryNav EVO without a WLAN connector – including Apple CarPlay
- Check and switch existing CarPlay to fullscreen
- Update NBT EVO ID4 to a suitable ID6 interface and check CarPlay
- Check an NBT EVO software update for iDrive 5/6
- Update navigation maps for CIC, NBT and NBT EVO
MGU is a separate headunit family, not NBT EVO. MGU activation is a remote service for confirmed compatible configurations with existing, working WLAN hardware. Already working CarPlay does not need a second activation; connection faults are investigated first.
EntryNav2 / EntryNav EVO without a WLAN connector requires a hardware modification of the original unit. The package includes the modification, WLAN antenna, an appropriate current software version, lifetime FSC for CarPlay and compatible map updates, and CarPlay activation. The unit must be handed over or sent in; remote coding alone is not sufficient. If WLAN is already present, a smaller service may be enough. The VIN and, where needed, part number, HWEL and connector photos establish the actual hardware. First-generation EntryNav is not automatically included.
CarPlay or a software update depends on the hardware, software level, Wi-Fi requirements and existing vehicle-specific activations. The NBT EVO guide helps with the initial assessment. Android Auto must be checked separately; the BMW Android Auto guide explains Operating System 7, Live Cockpit, Smartphone Integration and older NBT EVO systems. For MINI, the MINI F56 CarPlay retrofit guide and used MINI head-unit adaptation guide explain the vehicle-specific preliminary check.
Imported vehicles and selected software services
For imported vehicles, language, units, radio or tuner, map region, ConnectedDrive and eCall are checked separately. The BMW US import guide and BMW Japan/Korea import guide explain what coding may change and where hardware, map, back-end or approval limitations apply. The related services are checking a supported EU configuration for a BMW US import and checking a supported German configuration for a BMW Japan/Korea import.
For a BMW M3 or M4 F80, F82 or F83, the F8x GTS DCT guide explains the requirements, differences and process. The F8x GTS DCT service is confirmed only after checking the seven-speed M DCT, vehicle and software level. No particular performance, road legality or unchanged warranty or insurance status is promised.
Before an enquiry about the top-speed limiter, the BMW speed-limiter removal guide explains the required vehicle and software checks as well as tyres, vehicle condition and approval matters. The speed-limiter service is confirmed only after an individual check. No particular top speed, road legality or unchanged warranty or insurance status is promised.
Warning messages and remote diagnostics
All relevant services are listed under Troubleshooting and diagnostics.
When a warning is unclear, diagnosis is often more useful than blanket coding. BMW remote diagnosis with ISTA includes vehicle identification, a fault-memory scan and assessment of the next steps. For a BMW showing a warning after a correctly installed suspension retrofit, we offer an EDC configuration check. For an SOS or emergency-call malfunction, the BMW emergency-call system guide distinguishes the backup battery, TCB/ATM, antenna, software level and retrofit status; the relevant remote emergency-call assessment service starts with vehicle and fault diagnosis. Hiding a warning is not a repair for an existing hardware, sensor or wiring fault.
If a BMW shows a yellow or red steering-lock symbol or will not start, the BMW ELV and steering-lock fault guide explains the differences between mechanical tension, a weak 12 V battery, CAS/ELV communication, wiring and an actual locking fault. The ELV fault service for E and F Series is confirmed only after checking the VIN, production date, fault codes and proof of authorisation; the immobiliser and key checks are not bypassed.
If the vehicle requests a tyre-pressure check, reports an RDC failure or does not recognise new TPMS sensors, the BMW RDC/TPMS guide distinguishes actual pressure loss, initialisation, sensor batteries, frequency or protocol and vehicle-hardware faults. The RDC/TPMS remote service is appropriate only if the assessment identifies a diagnostic or configuration task on the vehicle. Coding is not used to conceal tyre damage, a depleted sensor or a legally required warning function.
Retrofit coding and adaptation of used control units
The BMW retrofit and control-unit adaptation category covers software work after correctly installing parts. Examples include:
- Code a reversing camera after installation
- Code a tow bar and trailer module
- Integrate a 6WA or 6WB instrument cluster
- Adapt a used CIC, NBT or NBT EVO head unit
- Adapt a used EGS or mechatronics control unit
- Adapt a used steering unit or EPS
- Assess Recaro or replacement seats after correct installation
For independent workshops, diagnostic businesses and commercial retrofitters, BMW & MINI coding for workshops and retrofitters brings together project information, technical requirements, responsibilities and the process for recurring enquiries. Every vehicle and part combination is still checked individually before confirmation.
Anyone planning a BMW 6WA or 6WB cluster retrofit can find the differences, required vehicle and part information, and guidance on new and used clusters in the 6WA, 6WB and instrument-cluster coding guide. The relevant 6WA/6WB remote service is confirmed only after checking the VIN, production date, part number, equipment and data condition. Mileage data is not changed to conceal the vehicle's actual use.
When replacing a HiFi, Top HiFi or Harman Kardon amplifier, the guide to used BMW and MINI audio amplifiers explains why the part number, audio equipment, donor vehicle and bus architecture must be checked before purchase. Coding does not repair hardware faults or replace missing speakers, wiring or power supply.
Mechanical installation, wiring, wheel alignment, workshop-equipment calibration and repair of defective hardware are included only if the specific offer expressly states this. The BMW control-unit adaptation guide explains the pre-purchase check. For camera retrofits, MINI F56 reversing-camera installation and coding also covers 3AG, hardware, wiring, aftermarket interfaces and typical faults. For the Countryman F60, the MINI tow-bar coding guide explains the differences between 3AC, 235 and 3AR, plus the wiring kit, trailer module and PDC. For BMW, the general tow-bar guide explains when coding is required after correct installation. The Recaro and sports-seat guide distinguishes installation, restraint systems, seat occupancy, wiring, diagnostics, coding and required approval. An unresolved airbag or restraint-system fault is not bypassed.
Mail-in repairs
FRM3 repair with 24-hour express service: Processing and return dispatch on the day the parcel arrives, every day including weekends. Carrier transit time is additional; the product page provides the shipping address and process.
The BMW and MINI FRM3 mail-in service checks the original footwell module and restores repairable data faults. Selected other repair services concern specific 12 V lithium batteries. Before any battery shipment, a photo and case assessment is required; visibly damaged, swollen, leaking or thermally abnormal batteries must not be sent as ordinary parcels. Current guidance is available under Shipping and returns and Mail-in address.
